Session One

Session 1: September 12th – 12:00pm – 1:00pm


Improving Religio-Cultural Competence in Patient Care- Through the Lens of the Orthodox Jewish Community: The webinar will provide an in-depth discussion on religious beliefs and practices within the Orthodox Jewish Community and its intersection with health care. The 1-hour dialogue will bring the lived experience of community members to foster a better understanding of religious and cultural differences that may impact patient interactions, and introduce strategies to facilitate better interactions that leads to improved care experience outcomes.



Session Two

Session 2: September 28th – 2:00pm – 3:00pm


Best Practices in Working with Patients who are Limited English Proficient: Case Examples and Solutions’: This webinar will provide examples of common scenarios faced by health care staff when working with LEP patients, and will showcase best practices and solutions in ensuring effective communication for a diverse population with an equally diverse range of communication needs

 


Session 4: November 30th, 1:00pm- 2:00pm


WMCHealth presents Enhance Your Cultural IQ, a speaker series that brings together diverse, expert voices to discuss important topics aimed at building workforce capacity and providing a culturally responsive patient experience.


The goal of this training session is to raise employee awareness about religious differences, particularly regarding holidays, and how these differences can impact employee and patient relationships year-round. Though religious holidays typically receive the most attention during the year-end season, different religious holidays and observances occur throughout the year. This session includes discussion on better practices for navigating the challenges and opportunities associated with religious observances for employees and patients.
